Vancouver Council Approves Laneway Housing

Rezoning single-family residential property to allow laneway housing has been approved by Vancouver city council in what looks to have been a busy day.

I'm waiting for the minutes of the meeting to be posted, but it looks like the idea has (rightfully) unanimously been given the go-ahead, at least in a limited fashion. This is a great step towards a more livable city, which could impact a wide range of issues from affordability and supporting small and local business, to public transit and lowering the dependancy on the car.

Sam Sullivan was just on the CBC this morning, discussing this amongst several other things that I want to get more details on: SE False Creek, BC Place, and Granville Street. More detail later!
